Everyone is surprised by a little tiny paralyzed kitten. Little Charlie was delivered to Marie’s house in a little laundry basket late one night. He weighed little about two pounds and was around eight weeks old. Little Charlie was believed to have been hurled against the wall, which had severely damaged his spine and made his hind legs paralyzed. Marie had no clue how much this small kitten would impact her life when he came into her life. Meet Charlie and read his story by scrolling down.      Marie had never before cared for a paraplegic kitten and was unsure of his prospects. He was trembling the first time she took him up, but he soon calmed and began purring. He had a strong appetite and looked to be extremely bright and energetic. Even though he was in excruciating agony, he remained vibrant.      When Marie took him to the vet, they advised euthanasia, but this was something Marie couldn’t really understand and found it difficult to hear the words. She was of the opinion that this was the wrong decision for Charlie, so she went to the local hospital to inquire about surgery. The doctors were ready to attempt to assist, but the procedure would cost between $10,000 and $12,000 to complete.      In the first, Marie didn’t know what to do with all of this money, but she came up with the brilliant idea of opening a Go Fund Me website and publicizing it on social media. After 24 hours, over 600 people had contributed, enabling the procedure to proceed.      After Charlie’s surgery, he was quite unwell and had to stay in the hospital for a week. After two weeks of rehabilitation, he was able to use his rear legs again. After that, he was unstoppable. In a flash, he moved from walking to running, jumping, and climbing. And he never stopped trying or gave up.

Charlie leave after being such an integral part of his life; he was now a member of her family. He also inspired her to rescue many special-needs cats out there, so she founded Charlie’s Army Animal Rescue and began adopting and nursing for kittens that needed extra attention      “Thank you for loving Charlie and helping me save his life,” Marie says. We couldn’t do it without you, and I wouldn’t be able to keep saving lives if it weren’t for Charlie’s Army. Allow Charlie to serve as an example and a reminder to never give up.
