Quick-Thinking Football Fans Use Flag To Catch Falling Cat At Football Game

This is the near heart stopping moment a cat falls from a considerable height to it’s (very probable) death, if it were not for the quick-thinking heroes below:

The black and white moggy was spotted at a Miami football stadium clinging on to the upper deck while fans stopped watching the game and turned their attention to the little guy.

At one point, a man on the upper deck tries to reach over in a bid to encourage the cat to grab hold of him. When that fails, the four-legged fur ball eventually gives up and falls.

The kitty probably wasn’t aware that there were some fast thinking fans down below that came equipped for this sort of eventuality because they’d very cleverly packed a flag.

Someone who was at the game between No. 22 Miami and Appalachian State at the Hard Rock Stadium was Dylan Marinov who filmed the entire incident and posted it on to TikTok.

He can be heard screaming and shouting in complete desperation, as everyone else that had realised what was going on seemed to also be doing.

Once the cat was caught using the flag, the stadium erupted in relieved cheers with people jumping up and down with their arms in the air.

Once the cat was down it was carried off to safety where we hope there were plenty of treats and cuddles in order.

Dylan posted the clip, which has been watched over three million times, alongside the caption: “Cats have 9 lives I guess.”

Commenting on the video, one person wrote: “Right before it fell the guy in orange should’ve whispered: ‘Long live the King’,” in reference to that tragic Lion King scene.

Another person added: “Players on the field wondering if their play was that good just now.”

A third commented: “That’s it. The missions has been accomplished, I can rest easy now.”

Craig Cromer, a facilities manager at the University of Miami and season-ticket holder was with his wife, Kimberly, who brings the flag to each home game.

PLEASE CARRY ON THAT TRADITION, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

Speaking to the MailOnline, Craig said: “They were trying to grab it from above and they couldn’t reach it but they were scaring it downward.

“It hung there for a little while with its two front paws, then one paw, then I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s coming soon.'”

At this stage, the couple unhooked the flag from the ties they used to keep it on the railing and prayed for a miracle.
