Woman’s Pet Cat Is So Big People Mistake Him For A Dog
A woman’s pet cat is so huge that people often mistake him for a dog and despite his size, the kitty isn’t even fully grown yet.
Yulia Minina, who lives in Oskol in Russia, bought her cat almost two years ago when he was just a tiny kitten.
But over the passing months, she was left shocked by how big the cat – who is named Kefir – grew.
In fact, he’s so big that people even assume he’s a dog when they first see him.
Yulia said: “I could not even think that an ordinary baby can become so big.
“He not only grew up big in appearance, he is also very smart and always behaves calmly.
“The look is generally like that of a person, and Kefir has a formidable appearance, but he is a very affectionate and modest child.
“When friends and acquaintances come to the house – all the attention is on him and he willingly allows himself to be stroked.
”But when strangers come to the house, everyone first confuses him with a dog.
“He has one more habit: at night he likes to climb on me and sleep. When he was a kitten, it didn’t cause me any inconvenience.
”But now he has become big and heavy, and, of course, it is difficult to sleep like that.
“Kefir is now one year and ten months old and weighs 12.5 kg.
”He is still considered a kitten. Maine Coons grow up to three to four years. Therefore, I think it should become even larger.”
Yulia has even been forced to deny that she edits the photos of Kefir, saying: “I don’t use Photoshop.”
And Yulia isn’t the only proud owner of a hefty cat that has been accused of using Photoshop.
Back in November 2020, Mary Lopez from St Albans in Hertfordshire insisted that her Norwegian Forest cats Shadow and Archie really are as big as they appear in her photos.
Recalling a viral photo that brought her colossal cats online fame, Mary said: “Taking the photo was one of those spur of the moment things where I said to my husband [Gab] to take a picture, as they grow quickly.
“I posted it on Facebook just for fun. It went a bit crazy. I know the internet loves cats but oh my god.
“There were people claiming there must be someone standing behind me that has longer arms, or maybe I’m really short, or maybe it’s a photoshop.
“The lengths that people think I’ve gone to for this photo. In reality, it was a five-second decision.”
